There are so many things I can share with you in regards to transformation. So where do we start…is it who, is it what, is it where, is it when, or is it why? These questions address uncertainty in the person who is not motivated, or in the person that doesn’t know what it takes to transform their life and they may not think that they themselves are able to do so.
WHO:
Everyone has the opportunity to throw his or her hat in the ring. It really doesn’t matter whether you’re old school or new school. The time is now to participate at whatever levels you need to in order to transform your life. We’ve seen stories on television about people who have transformed their own lives, or we’ve seen stories about peoples whose circumstances (good or bad) have transformed their lives.
There aren’t many restrictions that will prevent you from taking action. If your life is about business or being an entrepreneur, or if your life is about physical health and overcoming an ailment, you are eligible to start the transition to your overall transformation.
WHAT:
The benefits of your transformation can be numerous. The experience in partaking or rerouting your life can be breathtaking. If you’re honest with yourself when you do the thing that really moves you and turns you on, nothing else will even come close to that type of elation.
It also gives your self-esteem a tremendous boost. Consider the ugly duckling that doesn’t know it’s ugly until everyone starts to call it ugly. That’s the dark day. All that the duckling wanted was to fit in and be kind to the other ducks, but it’s constantly being teased and picked at until one day it begins to shy away and become a recluse.
Now the duckling doesn’t know it, but things don’t always stay the same. Perhaps that duck starts to lose feathers becoming more unattractive, but then suddenly it grows feathers that appear smooth and full of color, then before you know it that duck becomes a swan.
WHERE:
Many times our thinking is that in order for us to transform we need a bunch of things to start the process. I say all you need to do is simply start where you are with what you have. The extras come as you learn about the journey you are about to embark upon, and as you learn about what’s needed.
For me, I knew that I wanted to be a speaker, but I didn’t know the first thing about actually becoming a speaker and I had to learn. First I simply just said it, and then I had a CD-ROM and book with details about the business of speaking and many of the accessories that went along with being a speaker. So essentially all I had was a desire and I started right from my home by educating myself and being educated by others that were in the business.
Now for those of you that read this, I’m suggesting that you start where you are. If you are into sports, then start in school where you can get some free hands on, if you are out of school go to your local gym, or community recreational center. The point is that you don’t start out doing anything by making an oversized investment before you get an idea of what’s needed.
There is no time like the present. It doesn’t really matter what you aspire to in life, if not now when and if not you who? In this day and time technology continues to advance and it doesn’t seem as if it’s going to shift or digress. Basically that means strap up for the ride of your life if you expect to harvest your fruit.
The fast pace of technology has affected all markets and industries. The younger generation would be wise to take heed to that fact, because it’s not only technology but its every industry and every profession on the planet that is upgrading with new best practices on a regular and on a consistent basis.
If our business professionals of tomorrow (our younger generation) adapt now and get the experience they need their generation will be in perfect position to take the lead in the world’s future. Older people can still adopt these new practices and remain competitive.
Now is the “when” that the older generation need to be aware of in order to keep up with these changing times. As it’s been said in music…if you don’t C# (sharp) you’ll Bb (flat)
One of the first things we talk about as an entrepreneur is why. What is your why? There are so many sayings to accompany the why…things like if your why doesn’t make you cry, then your why isn’t big enough. How about this one, when your why is big enough the how doesn’t matter. There are many more and I’d opt to say there is probably truth to all of them.
Why we do anything is simply the reason and sometimes the reason probably isn’t clear. You may wake up one day and just have the overwhelming urge to do, be, or understand something and you may not be able to stop yourself. Sometimes it’s like the light was just turned on.
To become all things possible in your life is a hefty goal, but to become all things that you were meant to be is a lot more realistic. It will still consist of a true and honest effort, but its still obtainable. Whether you always wanted to be a particular thing or you found out while on life’s path that you were destined to be a particular thing…it really doesn’t matter as long as you heed to the calling.
Another truth about your why is that, once you begin to pursue it, you’ll have to measure it according to what you consider is success or successful. That’s a righteous way of internalizing it.
In addition to the obvious fact that success is measurable, your why will always be attached to your opportunity to be the best in a given area, industry, business or profession. The core reason of your why will determine your level of responsibility with fulfilling that obligation.
