Facing the facts and the truth of a matter is hardly the same. We use words so loosely that in many situations we have entire conversations about what was intended tom be said or expressed versus the actual point. I understand that every daily engagement shouldn’t and doesn’t have to be about business, but to simply have clarity its important to be clear.
Why are we losing focus in society on how we communicate? I feel it may be because everything is immediate and sometimes the trends / fads are interwoven in how we define a particular topic. Those very trends stray from the original meaning or intentions of certain words or expressions. Now of course this is my opinion and yours may vary, but I’d love to hear your take.
The facts simply are what they are…whether pretty, easily obtainable or not that is the bottom line. The truth runs along the same lines. It simply is what it is. Both can be very unfavorable and it’s understandable that most of us don’t care to embrace that side of reality.
In business there is a companies code, mission statement, vision statement and culture. The long and short of this means that there is a particular way that ABC company wants to be seen, how the want to act and conduct business. Usually, this refers to internal and external business.
My only problem with this is that many companies will have exceptions, but exceptions seem to become norms to a certain class of employees within a company.Whatever happened to all for one and one for all? Ok, I understand that might not work for every employee or for every account, but the hypocrisy is stunning.
When it comes to spirituality and religion there is a very similar parallel. In my opinion and to my knowledge there is a God (regardless to the name you know him / her by). However I don’t except any group that live their lives in some extreme fashion that hurts and kills other people for what they claim to be righteous (foreign or domestic). That can be an entirely different write up.
My point is many of the religious teachings have the same foundation and very similar principle beliefs. The stories and miracles told in these literary bodies of work are like any other body of work…there is the possibility for inaccuracy, embellishment, omission of detail, but it does not mean with the human flaws, errors or omissions, that there isn’t truth in the overall body of the written word.
My grandparents and ancestors would probably be so angry or upset with me and I get it. How can one question or doubt every morsel of detail that they have heard or have been told all of their lives? I simply call it thinking for yourself and using life experience to aid you in your assessment.
Thank you for allowing me to share quite a bit of what’s been on my heart and mind. I welcome responses.
