Customer Service being over-rated is probably like air being over-rated. If you don’t have a good customer service game…you are in serious trouble! There are so many companies that don’t have good service not alone good customer service. I wonder sometimes, where do they get these people!
Customer service is one of the most important components to any business model. Brick and mortar, MLM, envelop stuffing, solopreneur…they all need customer service. In fact I’d say it has to be number one! You need sales, so you need customer service, you need customers, so you need customer service, you need marketing….you get the picture.
Soft-skills are so under-rated until there is a major issue, then people want to concern themselves about the lack of this very important skill. Many companies are really at risk because they don’t want to invest in their company. The training budget is the first to go or its non-existent.
