Connecting and collaborating is important in life simply because it makes life easier to appreciate and it becomes much easier to gain ground. It won’t always work and it won’t necessarily be easy to find, but it can be so complimentary when it authentic. That authenticity will work in daily life or in business life.
You have to be willing to accept and appreciate the authenticity of relationships if you want to have a life of stressless and un-needed second-guessing. Having trust in your relationships can be one of the best recipes for success (connecting & collaborating) that we all seek. In business, it’s almost unheard of and in personal life (celebrity and everyday folks) it seems almost non-existent.
We are currently living in very tense times. There seems an overabundance of stress and uncertainty, which makes it difficult to focus yet it’s probably smart to be involved in some type of entrepreneurial endeavor. The reason is simply that it will keep you engaged in something that you care about (should you choose the right endeavor) and it can be an additional income stream.
Connecting and collaborating stands on it’s on and it can work equally well grouped. All you need is the right mindset and the right person. The authenticity that we hope for in relationships will allow the connection, but as we learn preferences and behaviors we decide if the trust bond has a chance to breed. If we can have trust, we can then have collaboration.
When you think about 50% of marriages failing…it’s simply scary. Marriage is the business relationship without a service or marketable product, yet marriage is really about the business of life WITH someone that’s significant to you. The thought of all of this is simple, yet depending on personality, temperament, attitude, and experience we can find connecting and collaborating quite challenging.
John Maxwell says the best way to fail is to fail forward. So without any absolutes or guarantees, we must gain the practical experience for ourselves and give it a try. Remember, nothing beats a failure except a try.
**Knowing or learning the motives of other people can truly be eye-opening. Some people are takers and some people are givers, and knowing this specific thing determines whether we expose our innermost secrets or whether we allow people into our inner circle.
Take at least 15 minutes for yourself to consider who your closest connections are and then consider whom you would like to collaborate with. Rate the relationships and note the pros and cons with each.
