Life is sort of like a code depending on how far you go or depending on when you realize how deep it can be. Generally speaking it may seem very basic and straight forth. After over a half of a century I’ve come to realize that our assignment is in our alignment.
We’ve all heard the cliche that we all have a talent, skill, gift or ability…well that’s actually true. For some of us there is no interest in capitalizing on any of those things. That’s neither wrong or right, it’s just a fact. I understand that some folks learn of the effort to become a particular thing and decide sooner or later that they wouldn’t want to have anything to do with that experience, or the effort required to rise to their greatness.
Some people want that ultimate guarantee in life…wait there’s more! The life you live and lead is not a commercial. If anything it seems to be the STUFF that many folk tales or legends are made from and my friend that can be very real! Your assignment is in your alignment and nobody else can get that specific combination. There are people that may be destined to get to the same mountain, or the depths of the same ocean as you, but how the get there is the difference maker.
It has been said that no 2 people have the same fingerprint, footprint or handprint (if this is not correct, please write or call me and let me know) and that is part of what makes us unique. We can find or stumble upon our gift in many ways. Sometimes it’s literally by accident. You sit in class and the teacher asks a question and with extremely no effort you get it…GOT IT! For others it can be the simple fact that when it comes to team activities or sport you just never get tired and once again without a lot of effort you are able to throw further, run faster, jump higher.
These may seem like long shots to you, but trust me they’re not. There are various reasons why these simple examples may never help us flourish (in some cases) into what seems like a crescendo of love, fame and happiness.
We are products of our environment and that very place has shown us things that is hurtful and it devastates our spirit!
We are around people that are close influences of ours and the don’t believe or know how to build us.
We’ve come up in a time that neither promotes or encourages us to be more, do more or have more (which is a combination more or less of the top two).
For some people everything stops there. Although some families in some communities believe that encouragement is part of the nurturing process which builds character, confidence and so much more. I would say that when we become of age we must begin to look at ourselves in a critical manner and take responsibility for who we are and what we inevitably are to become.
This is important on so many levels. The 4 WHAT’S
What is it we are to achieve
What opportunity looks like for us
What tools do we have
What resources will we need
